What is Person Centred counselling?
Person Centred Counselling is a style of talking therapy with the core belief that each individual has within them the capacity to become their truest, most authentic self. Within counselling sessions you are offered empathy, acceptance, a genuine connection within our therapeutic relationship and a confidential space for you to explore whatever is on your mind. I believe that you know your own self and your own needs better than anyone; my job is to help you make the change you're looking for happen.
How long is a session?
One counselling session will always last 50 minutes.
How many sessions do I need to book?
The number of sessions you want to have is entirely up to you and will depend on your unique situation. Our sessions can be set to a certain amount if you wish, or open-ended so you can continue until you feel ready to stop. Either way, you can end our sessions at any point and there is no obligation to reach a certain amount.
How does online counselling work?
A Microsoft Teams link will be sent to you via email before our sessions which you just need to click, no account needed. Make sure you have a device with a camera and microphone, a secure internet connection, and a private space to call from. If you don't have a device to use, telephone sessions can be offered.
What is the BACP?
The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) is the UK's leading professional body for counsellors and therapists. As a registered member, I have met the BACP's standard for training and work within their Ethical Framework, designed to keep clients safe and the work fair and productive.
